I founded Math with Mike because I kept meeting bright, capable students who had quietly decided they "weren't math people." They weren't right. Almost every student I've worked with had the ability all along — what they were missing was someone willing to slow down, find the gap, and fill it without making them feel small.
My approach is straightforward: meet the student where they are, build real understanding from the ground up, and help them see that math is a set of patterns they can learn — not a language they were born unable to speak.
I work primarily with middle and high school students across algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and standardized test prep. Sessions are one-on-one, focused, and tailored to whatever your student is working on in class right now.
If a student is stuck, it means a specific concept earlier in the chain wasn't fully built. Find it, fix it, and the rest comes back online.
I'd rather a student know why the quadratic formula works than memorize it without context. The "why" is what survives the next test.
A student who feels respected and capable will try things. A student who feels judged will shut down. Sessions are calm, structured, and patient — always.
The free consultation is a no-pressure conversation. If I'm not the right tutor for your student, I'll say so.
